While Valentine’s Day is for couples, I love to treat my girls and make them feel loved as well. Each year, we put together a fun breakfast for them to start their Valentine’s Day. Setting a cute table with things I have and creating a Valentine’s gift box are a fun sight each Valentine’s Day morning!
The table is set with pink and red to create a festive Valentine look. Several years ago, I needed a pink tablecloth on short notice and couldn’t find one. Instead, I grabbed a pink twin sized sheet! A whole lot less expensive for a color I don’t use that often. We use these hot pink napkins as our every day dinner napkins for a pop of color. The silver placemats are another fun favorite that you’ve seen here before. We love these pink swirl glasses seen here, too.
I always put together a little box of fun treats they enjoy. It has changed a bit over the years and now that they are teens to pre-teen, I’ve added a few beauty times as well. I created this box of Valentine’s Day goodies mostly of fun things I found at the Target Dollar Spot.
This heart box actually has a lid and will be cute on their desk as a catch-all to help contain clutter later! I’ve filled it with tissue to nest in a scented candle, Valentine’s Day gummi bears, pencils, markers, a phone charging bank and bath bomb. It’s topped of with a huge heart-shaped Dylan’s Candy Bar lollipop.
I found these darling lavender travel hair dryers at Target as well. The iridescent case caught my eye from the main aisle! As you know we love to travel, this will be great for trips and will also hold some hair accessories. It will be perfect for the dorm next year for my oldest! (That is so strange to type, by the way!)
The heart shaped coin purses with cute sayings are something I picked up at one of my favorite local stores, Nicholson-Hardie. They always have the cutest seasonal things!
As you can see, it doesn’t take much a really cute Valentine’s Day tablescape. I try to also serve a fun but simple breakfast. I can’t wait to share my recipe for easy gluten free Red Velvet Waffles with you next week!
Do you do something special for your children for Valentine’s Day? I’d love to know your traditions!
Also, I shared my Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Her last week so I hope you’ve sent it along with your hints! The Gift Guide for Him is coming tomorrow!
