Getting Organized at Home

by | Mar 19, 2020 | Interior Inspiration, LIfestyle | 0 comments

I hope everyone is doing well today!   With all the time we are having at home, one of my goals is getting organized at home.  Over the past few years, I’ve shared several organizing posts that I thought I’d share in one place for you today.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be going room by room to get these spaces back to tip top shape and doing a few more!  I’ll share on Instagram Stories as I do these spaces to offer you a bit of inspiration as well.

Home Office, Home Office Organization, Office Closet, Blogger Office, How To Organize Your Office, Office Organization from The Container Store, Blogger OfficeAlicia Wood, Dallas Lifestyle Blogger, Dallas Fashion Blogger, Dallas Home Blogger, Home Office, Home Office OrganizationSince I work from home, I’ve had my home office set up for a while.  Because I don’t have a dedicated room as a home office, I had to make do with the space I had.  Many of you may be in this same situation as well.  My Home Office Reveal might be a good resource for you and some of the storage a good way to handle all the homeschooling paper we will now have, too!

So many more of us are cooking all three meals at home (with a little take out to support our local restaurants mixed in), an organized pantry is a must!  My friend Tonia Tomlin from Sorted Out shared 5 Tips to a Perfectly Organized Pantry that helped me tame the chaos of a fairly small and highly used pantry.  I actually cleaned up and relabeled the pantry in February and I’m so glad I did!

One of the first posts I did almost 6 years ago, was kitchen and bath drawer organization.  This was a hugely popular post and still gets traffic.  It’s super easy and helps so much when cooking like we are all doing a lot of right now.  I’m going to be pulling everything out of the drawers, wiping them out and making it all fresh in the coming days. My Master Bath drawers are next!  I get so many samples, it’s time to clean out!

Drawer Organizer Inserts from The Container Store, Master Closet Reveal, Blogger Closet, Master Closet Organization, Sorted Out orgainzersOur Master Closet was so fun to design when we remodeled our home about 6 years ago.  This Master Closet Reveal post shows you the before and after of my Master Closet Organization and working with Tonia to get it right.  The tips and techniques that she taught me and the products she suggested helped me gain a lot of space in my Master Closet.  It is so nice that everything has it’s place and is easy to find.  I also shared her Tips to Organizing Your Closet Like A Pro in a second post because they were so helpful and that post was already long!  The only thing I’m thinking of changing is the jewelry storage.  I had the pretty jewelry box you see in the posts and we used it but it is hard to see the items and out of sight out of mind!  I’m thinking of reorganizing my jewelry using a mix of these items.

Top of my list after the Master Closet is my Master Bath.  I love the organizing system that The Container Store helped me put together using their Organization Studio.  This was a really fun project and one you can do from home and get the supplies you need for any space with their expert help online.

Another item I’ll be working on is Home Maintenance.  A few weeks ago I shared the Complete Home Maintenance Checklist and it is time to get this quarter’s items checked off the list.  No Excuses!

I hope this gives you some inspiration on getting organized at home and how to make the most of the downtime at home.  I’ll be doing these while the girls do their online classes next week.

With love and prayers for good health and joy in these circumstances,

One of the ways I am taking advantage of the forced pause is creating the habit of exercise for myself. I don’t talk about exercise much on AWL because, well, I don’t usually do it. But that is changing!
