Activated Charcoal Bar // Activated Charcoal Mask // Robe
I’m sure you’ve been hearing about the latest beauty craze: Activated Charcoal. Do you know what it does and why you want to use an Activated Charcoal Cleanser or Face Mask?
Activated charcoal has the ability to absorb toxins and pollutants. It has been used in hospitals in cases of ingestion of toxins for years. It absorbs the chemical before it can enter the blood stream. When added to facial product does the same thing acting like a magnet and attracting dirt and oil from out of your pores. The result is brighter, clearer skin.
Two of my favorite charcoal beauty products are from Beautycounter, a leader in the clean beauty movement which is very important to me. At least every other morning, I use this Charcoal Cleansing Bar to wash my face. I wasn’t sure, honestly, if I would like it. It’s a black bar of soap and I’ve not used soap to wash my face since high school. I love using it though. It makes my skin feel clean and smooth. I was really surprised that I could tell a difference in my skin and it’s texture the first time is used it. It feels ultra clean!
This Cleansing Bar helps get rid of clogged pores and impurities without parching your skin. Made with antioxidant-rich, organic green tea and hydrating organic coconut oil, this gentle and powerful bar can be used on your face and body daily.
The longer the charcoal sits on your face the more toxins and impurities it absorbs that is why I love this Purifying Face Mask. A mineral-rich mix of kaolin clay and charcoal, the mask gently exfoliates, draws out impurities, and soothes. I’ve been using it twice a month and love the results. I really need to make the time to do it weekly! I apply the mask let it sit for 10 minutes, spritz with rosewater to help removal and hydrate further, remove with a wash cloth and rinse thoroughly.
The cleansing bar is great for teens as well because it helps fight breakouts and acne. It is a powerful tool when used with the face mask. My girls use these and we see great results when we use them regularly (ie. when I “gently” remind them!). The charcoal bar is hard-milled and great for teens to use in the shower, too. Young men like the cool black bar.

I am a little late in commenting on this, but I just love the charcoal mask. I have thought about the charcoal bar, too, but a little worried that it might dry my skin out. Now I may go for it! Thanks for sharing!
