My best friend has been hosting a “First Day of School Luncheon” since our oldest children went to Kindergarden. The eight of us look forward to this day each year. In the beginning it helped with the tears. Now it’s a great time to catch up with each other after the summer and see how much the kids have grown. This year will be 10 years and this children will start High School. Where did the time go!?!?
Another dear friend and I decided we needed to do this for a group of mom’s of our youngest children….So the Bye, Bye, Baby! Brunch was born. Last year was our second annual event. I am working on the menu for this year and thought I’d share this great idea with you today.
Loved setting my table with what has become my signature splash of pink. You can spot this shade in each room of my home. A great party favors are a must. Last year they were the small pink plants wrapped in tulle and the monogrammed notebooks. This year’s will be equally fabulous. I’ll be sure to share on Instagram.
The Menu (all Gluten Free and Nut Free, of course)
Honey Yogurt Parfait with Strawberries and Granola
Mini Coffee Cakes with Brown Sugar Cinnamon Topping made with my favorite mix
Blackberry, Pineapple and Currant Fruit Salad with a Honey Glaze
Mimosas with fresh tangerine juice and fresh orange juice
Do you have back to school traditions with your friends? Please share in the comments.
Cheers to friendship!
Alicia
SHOP THE POST:
I am now needing a Mimosa! I love the little coffee cakes. They are so cute, and delicate. Would be fun to add a topping bar so people can choose yummy fruits to add 🙂
That is a great idea, Kelly! I’ve been thinking about a waffle bar but a coffee cake bar would be so fun!
