Cooking and entertaining is one of my favorite things to do. This weekend is Memorial Day and we will be headed to Lake with the girls and friends. Here are the best Memorial Day recipes including BBQ chicken, desserts, and more that I will be using all weekend! You can find all of my recipe favorites here.

You know I also love to set a beautiful table for any holiday or just because!  You can find inspiration for your table here.

Wicker's BarbecueBest BBQ Chicken – My Dad’s Special!

We make this chicken as often as we can especially when my parents are in town. We call it Pop’s Chicken or Wicker’s Chicken.  It is marinated for two days in this fabulous barbecue sauce from Southeast Missouri near where my dad grew up and I was born: Wicker’s Barbecue Marinade and Baste. Nothing says Memorial Day more than an outdoor cookout…and this is the perfect recipe!

Coconut Margarita

You all know my passion for a good margarita. Find all of my margarita recipes here.  This cool, creamy drink is delicious, different, and refreshing. The perfect summer drink.  I tested out many recipes for this after trying it on a previous trip to Cabo. I added the toasted coconut to my recipe because I love that extra flavor. Do you have a favorite margarita? This Coconut Margarita and my Serrano Margarita are my two favorites! One’s sweet and one’s a little spicy!

Strawberry Sangria

I love sangria and I’ll be making this Strawberry Sangria this weekend…and all summer long!  If you are a sangria fan, you’ll also want to try my French Rose Champagne Sangria and White Peach Basil Sangria as well.

Grilled Bruschetta

This White Bean Grilled Bruschetta with Radish & Cilantro is a great addition to your Memorial Day weekend menu! It’s a satisfying appetizer that combines the grill flavor with a creamy spread and a spicy crunch.

Three Onion Potato Salad

This potato salad is always a big hit with family and friends. I make it for Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th, etc. It’s the perfect side for any cookout or summer menus!

Four Berry Rustic Pie

We love berries around here and this pie is a family favorite! Making a Rustic Pie or Galette is my favorite because it doesn’t have to be perfect.  That takes A LOT of pressure off. This is great warm with ice cream or whipped cream. It’s even yummy the next day for breakfast.

Cherry Skillet Pie

Speaking of Berry pie, this Cherry Skillet Pie had to make the list! It is such a fun one to have for the patriotic holiday with it star crust cutouts! Nobody turns down a good cherry pie, especially when served warm with vanilla ice cream!

Patriotic Trifle

One more dessert, I promise! This next dessert is a fun and easy one that is easily transferable so great to make if you are in charge of bringing a dessert! This patriotic dessert is sure to be a hit at your celebration this weekend and for the 4th of July as well. If you don’t have a trifle bowl, you can also use a large clear bowl and it is just as pretty.  I use my trifle bowl a lot for other things…salad bowl, displaying fruit, even serving sangria.

I hope you enjoy some or all of these recipes during whatever Memorial Day weekend celebrations you have going on! If you can’t make them all, you can save them for the next holiday, 4th of July!
