I’m excited to share my Bright White Breakfast Room with you today. This post began as both the kitchen and breakfast room but was way too long.  Although they are truly one large room, I’m breaking them up into two.  I’ve so many requests to show these rooms since I started the blog more than 3 years ago.  I just never felt like I was finished so I never photographed it. You’ve seen glimpses of it in my recipe posts and a few photos in the Holiday Home Tour though. That post is what really made me get my act together and “finish” our kitchen and breakfast room.

My bright white breakfast room features pops of hot pink and turquoise, two of my favorite colors. This room makes me so happy!  I spend a lot of time in here cooking and also working at the island like I showed you here. My home office is a work in progress I’ll be sharing soon, but the light is just too good in here! The breakfast room features Three pieces I love. One, our breakfast table, the 70s era buffet I had refinished and the special artwork. The chinoiserie hardware I had plated in silver is just gorgeous. This one is pretty similar.  If I’d seen this one, I’d really have been tempted! Wow!

The breakfast table was my great-grandmother’s dining table that I had refinished. It has taken a lot of use in the past 9 years, so I’ll be doing it again soon.  This one is similar. The glass fixture above the table was last seen here.  I think it is discontinued.  I love this one and honestly, it’d be easier to clean than these glass disks are but it was love at first sight so I bought it.

The flamenco dancer artwork over the buffet is actually a framed Hermes scarf that was a gift from my husband about 8 years ago. I loved it but only wore it twice. When we were moving back in to our home from moving out to remodel it, I had been thinking about art for this space. I found this box and when I opened it I realized it was the exact color of pink I was looking for. I’d always wanted a framed Hermes scarf and there she was!

Anchoring this space is a new rug I just found. I have looked and looked and finally found the perfect one. (Also, I delayed because the girls were so young and they were spilling things ALL. THE. TIME.) I love how it ties in all of the colors of this room with the pewter gray field and shades of pink and turquoise. When we opened it, my husband said, “It’s really busy…” Now, he thinks it’s perfect, too.

Although, we do eat at the table most nights, probably the most used piece in our breakfast room is the Louis XVI style settee. It was originally in our family room but proved to be a bit small for family living. It also lived in my entry way for a few years while I tried to find the perfect spot for it.

One day, it dawned on me to put it in here because everyone always wanted to hang in here with me while I cooked. My youngest now loves to do her “out loud” reading here and the older girls crash here after school with a snack and their cell phones (insert grimace here – but I still love them being in the kitchen with me!)

The soft pewter chenille covering the sofa is Crypton Fabric, of course, so I don’t have to worry about snack crumbs or spills. I have Crypton Fabric on the sofas in my family room and just love it. You can read more about this fabulous stain resistant and kid-proof/pet-proof fabric here.  The turquoise garden stool brings a pop of color to this side of the room as a side table along with the turquoise linen pillow.

The custom cushions for the Kartel Louis Ghost chairs are also covered in a Crypton Fabric called Felix – Heartthrob. I did this recently and it’s sooooo much better than the laminated fabric cushions we had before. My husband always hated those and their plastic feel. I want to cover my entire house in Crypton!   I wish I’d known about it when I covered the chairs in my master bedroom…My girls have really done a doozy on them.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour of my bright white breakfast room. The kitchen is coming soon!  I’ve listed all the sources below and linked similar items if mine is not available. Please let me know if you have any questions!
