Cape Town and Hermanus South Africa Packing List

by | Packing Lists, Travel | 0 comments

This summer we have several great tips on the calendar beginning with South Africa!  Today, I’m sharing my Cape Town and Hermanus, South Africa Packing List with you.

We are so excited to be headed to Cape Town and Hermanus, South Africa with some of our dearest friends who happen to be our business partners, too!  If you’ve been here a while then you may remember our first trip to South Africa in April 2019.  It has been a dream of mine to return to Africa and this summer is THE summer!  We will also be coming back to Africa in July to meet our oldest daughter after her legal internship in East Africa.

We will be spending a few days in Cape Town and then moving on to the coastal town of Hermanus.  Hermanus is world famous for it’s whale watching from the coastline from June until September.  I can’t wait to explore the property and share it with you. I’ll be doing another travel guide for this trip and reviews of each hotel property.

Once again, we are traveling with Natural World Safaris.  NWS hosted us on our last visit and when we were planning this trip, there were my first and only call!  I can’t recommend them highly enough.  You can read more about them in Meet Natural World Safaris, Three Tips on Planning the Perfect Safari, and the locations we visited last time Cape Town and the Cape Winelands, Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge and Royal Malewane.

And without further adieu, my packing list for what to wear in Cape Town and Hermanus.  It is Fall in South Africa the beginning of the Winter season so it was a bit tricky to pack since I have Summer on my mind with the 90s we’ve had the past few days in Dallas.  I’ve packed a mix of great tops with jeans as well as dresses I can add a wrap to for cool evenings.

We will be visiting the Victoria and Albert Waterfront, Table Mountain and the Cape of Good Hope before moving to Hermanus.  The temperatures will be low 50s to low 70s.

The boutique below is filled with items I’ve packed and others for inspiration, many of them great for now at home as well.  It is hard to find a lot of long sleeved things in Texas right now!  Also, adding a jacket or wrap is a good and easy option.  I’ll be sharing my Safari Packing List in a few days.  I have heard from many of you who are going on a safari in the next several months so I know it will be helpful!

I’ll be sharing our trip as we go along so be sure to follow on Instagram.
