It’s no secret we love to grill. It’s easy and seems to make for a special evening even on a weeknight. Cedar Planked Salmon is a family favorite. We have one of the best fish markets very close to our house in Rex’s so I just grab some on the way home from school on nights I want good but quick.
My favorite planks are from Fire and Flavor. Gena Knox and her husband, Davis, have quite wonderful company focused great products that make grilling simple and tasty. She’s also a good friend of James Farmer, who you’ll be hearing about soon!
After soaking the planks in salted water for 30 minutes or more (so the planks don’t just burn), season them quickly on the grill. About 3 minutes each side at 300 degrees. (Honestly, I skip this grill part often and it works out just fine.)
Take them back inside and place your salmon on the planks. I have them cut into the portions I want prior to cooking but a whole filet would be just as easy. Spoon on some Stonewall Kitchen Maple Champagne Mustard, sprinkle some Truffle & Salt and return to the grill. Cook for about 20 minutes at 300 degrees for a thoroughly cooked 8 oz. filet.
I put a few artichokes on the grill using the recipe from this post and filled the centers with a bit of aioli. I use Stonewall Kitchen Lemon Herb Aioli often but you can also mix a bit of mayo, lemon juice, garlic salt and, voila!
