I’m ready to put on a coat. Yes, me who loves the sand and sun. It just plain time. So today I bring you My Favorite Five in the form of Five Classic Coats You Need in Your Closet. With these classic coats, you’ll always be perfectly dressed. You can find more My Favorite Five posts here.
I actually love a great coat or jacket. A few years ago, I had to stop myself from buying them. Having the right topper, makes me feel really put together. For example, I love a beautiful dress coat. A wrap coat a great option, super chic, and easy to style. It’s also very flattering. This navy wrap coat is gorgeous and comes in multiple colors. You can throw it over and dress and boots and easily elevate your entire outfit.

You may remember this coat from when this post was first published. It’s a classic black peacoat that I love wearing during the fall. I added it to a crisp white shirt and on-trend jeans to make a really chic outfit. When I posted this on Instagram, I got so many comments and direct messages asking for details. I purchased it several years ago in the pink which reminds me of this current beauty. The texture is beautiful and it is amazingly soft! You can find more options for each of the coat categories in the boutique below!
Five Classic Coats You Need
Peacoat – Black or navy is most traditional but you can’t go wrong with a great color either. This is also a great option if you want gold buttons.
Iconic Trench – The second must-have coat is a trench. Stay dry in style and add instant chic to any outfit. This beauty is truly classic with its iconic, trademark coat.
Dress Coat – I purchased a long cashmere-blend coat with fox trim in charcoal gray 18 years ago and still love wearing it on cold days or when I’m dressed up for an event or church.
Puffer Coat – This 3/4 coat is the warmest coat I own. I wear it on the coldest days running errands around town and at windy, winter soccer games (read very often). It is perfect in the mountains, too, shopping or heading out to dinner. Let’s face it, even here it gets cold in January and February and this coat is my best friend. This and this are also great options for warmth and length.
Classic Tailored Coat – I purchased this camel coat 5 years ago and it’s my most worn coat. It goes with everything, is so warm and the simply styling is perfect. I get asked about it every time I wear it. I also love this one or this one. Keep scrolling to shop more options!
