The day has finally arrived to reveal my Family Room makeover and I could not be more excited! In January, I shared that I was redecorating my family room with Crypton Home Fabrics. My goal was to create a fun, colorful space for our family to spend time together and for the girls to hang with friends as well. I could not be happier with the beautiful results!
Blue has always been my favorite color and hot pink has become a bit of my signature color. There are pops of it throughout my house so those were my launching point. I love a white room with beautiful colors so that was my vision.
Crypton provided their Veldt chenille in ivory to recover my sofas. This “No Fright White” fabric allowed me to have gorgeous white sofas with no fear of wear or stains. Crypton Home Fabrics is a lead innovator in performance fabrics and builds its technology into every fiber so that the permanent stain resistance and release properties and integrated barrier ensure nothing can penetrate into the cushion for the life of the fabric.
Can we talk about these wing chairs!?!? I love them so much! They are a Thibaut fabric with Crypton technology. They add just the vibrancy and fun I was looking for. They were my big “risk” in the room…if you’ve followed me long, you know pattern is something I’m learning to embrace more. Theses chairs are so perfect especially with the raspberry European linen pillows in them. I had these upholstered by Luxury Custom Upholstery. Alex does amazing work. I can’t believe how well he matched the pattern of the fabric on both chairs.
There are so many beautiful accessories that help to complete the family room. Many of them were provided by Wisteria. It was great fun to work with both their corporate and store staff to make my selections. Showcasing my blue and white collection was something I wanted to do and adding a pair of floral jars and these beauties helped to round it out. One of my favorite local stores, Nicholson Hardie, filed this gorgeous blue and white bowl with fuchsia orchids adding a whimsical touch to the ming-style coffee table. More on all these timeless pieces and a fun in-store event next week!
The piece de resistance that truly pulls the colors of the family room and my home together is the stunning artwork created by local artist Jenn Thatcher. Jen is a truly gifted artist and I’ll be featuring more of her work on the blog in two weeks. Looking at it makes me so happy! It hangs over an French buffet that stores all of our games and puzzles. And with three girls, we have a lot of games!
I love mixing antiques into my home along with newer pieces. The mirrored screen is one of these but I’ve found one very similar at a great price! It reflects light and also solves the dilemma of trying to find a tryptic to hang in the three panels on this long wall. The gilded chairs are favorites and have rotated rooms over the years.
The most favorite piece in this room is the rattan game table. It belonged to my great-grandmother and still has the original formica top from the 50s. We used it as a breakfast table growing up. I made it current with a fun Ikat, also with a JF Fabrics print made by Crypton. Lot’s of puzzles and homework happen here.
I also get a lot of questions about my paint color. It is a custom color I’ve used throughout the house on all trim and cabinets. Paint color: Custom from Benajmin Moore (Formula is: S1 1x 29.5000 W1 0x 26.0000 R3 0x 0.7500 Y1 0x 7.7500) The walls that are not trimwork like in this room are 50% Benjamin Moor Sailcloth. It matches this formula perfectly.
There is so much goodness my new Family Room so I’ll be breaking it down in future posts but if you have questions, don’t hesitate to comment below or email me. You can shop most items below. If you are interested in the fabrics, email me for details.
I hope you enjoy this visual candy to brighten your Monday!
