The cold weather is hard on my already dry skin! Now Dallas is having a once in a century arctic blast with our current temperature of 7*, windchill of -11 and 4 inches of snow and more on the way, my skin is super dry. With spring break on the way and the ability to wear dresses and shorts, I want to share my Winter Skin Rescue routine with you.
My skin is generally on the dry side and with any hint of winter, it’s parched. The combination of jeans and sweaters that wick the moisture from your skin and the dryness from heaters wreak havoc on my poor skin. This combination of products is my solution for dry winter skin and works so well for me that I want you to know about them, too.
I’ve always been a fan of body scrubs. They are so good for whisking away dry skin and leaving behind a layer of moisture. One of my very favorites is Beautycounter’s Sugar Body Scrub. The mineral-rich evening primrose, sweet almond, apricot kernel, and sunflower oils leave my skin deeply moisturized. It also has antioxidant-rich acai berry to support the appearance of healthy skin. Citrus and lemongrass oils leave a light and fresh scent behind. I can easily wear my favorite fragrance with no scent “competition.” I use this each time I shower or take a bath to keep dry skin at bay.
Next, I follow with this Body Butter. This rich Body Butter is the perfect formula because is richly moisturizes your skin but absorbs quickly and is not at all greasy or sticky. The Citrus Mimosa smells heavenly! Because the Body Butter absorbs quickly, there is no waiting to get dressed. A plus, because I’m always in a rush!
At night, I use the Rosemary Citrus Body Oil. I like to give the oil a bit more time to absorb before calling it a night and it is a bit more moisturizing. I hadn’t used body oils before I tried this one. The Body Oil is moisturizing but light weight. I use this also in the summer. A fun bonus is that it repels mosquitos for me!
Ever seen models whose skin seems to glow? Well, this Lustro Shimmer Oil is the secret! It is one of my favorite body products ever! It leaves behind a slight tint (think glow, not tan) and a slight shimmer. This is an evening go-t0 and summer must have. Extra glow for date night! You can find more of my clean self-tanner favorites here. A good glow in the winter always makes me feel better!
Another special offer for you, if you purchase the products, enter my name as the Beautycounter Consultant, I’ll enter you into a drawing for a free Body Butter!
I hope this helps you with any dry winter skin issues you have. All of these products are clean and non-toxic. I’m a big believer of Clean Beauty and you can read more about here. My Beauty Shop on the Shop page (just click the tab for Clean Beauty) is filled with Clean Beauty products and great non-invasive beauty tools for clean and youthful skin.
