You know I love a reason to entertain.  On this first day of Spring and with Easter around the corner, I’m dreaming of what I will create for the dining table and the menu.

Each year I add a few new things to my “party closet” for each holiday.  I find it makes it a bit more fun to use what you already own if you can add a touch of new, no matter how small.

This year, I am going to use pastels and a pop of green.  I think I’ve told you I’m not a green person, per se.  But how can I resist these new Lettuce Ware canapé plates from the new Dodie Thayer for Tory Burch collection?  They’ll be bread and butter plates for Easter and then serve their intended purpose later on.  Another reason for a party!

I’ve also just ordered these Alabaster place card holders.  Using place cards  might seem a bit formal to have place cards when it’s “just family” but honestly, it makes getting everyone seated a bit more quickly at my house.

Every spring and Easter, I bake coffee cakes or muffins using these darling Nordic Ware pans.  Strawberry muffins with a pink sugar glaze are favorites in the rose pan.  My favorite is the bugs and butterflies.  Williams-Sonoma doesn’t carry it anymore but I’ve found it for you here.  They do have a sweet Rabbit with an Easter egg and a sleeping bunnies pan.  They might be next in my collection!
