Here is a fun, easy July 4th dessert for you! It is easily transported so it is a favorite of mine to make. You probably saw me making this if you follow me on Snapchat (thelushlist). The first round of whipped cream turned into some weird butter/yogurt concoction…yuck! This is the recipe I use…just don’t get distracted talking to your friend while you are making it!
This patriotic dessert is sure to be a hit at your celebration this weekend. If you don’t have a trifle bowl, you can also use a large clear bowl and it is just as pretty. I use my trifle bowl a lot for other things…salad bowl, displaying fruit, even serving sangria.
- 8-10 cups whipped cream (recipe here)
- 2 pints of strawberries
- 2 pints of blueberries
- 1 pound cake, cubed (I use Cup4Cup’s recipe here but you can use store bought as well!)
- Layer all ingredients in bowl beginning with the whipped cream.
- Continue adding in this order:
- cake,
- strawberries,
- whipped cream,
- cake blueberries,
- whipped cream,
- strawberries,
- whipped cream leaving a bit of the strawberries showing
- finish with blueberries.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight.
I have to show you this top once again. I can’t get over the detail and gorgeous beading…and fact that it is Tommy Bahama! So well priced for all the handiwork! Another brand would be so much more expensive.
