Jacket // Perfect Stretch Shirt // Denim Skirt // Shoes // Tote (color sold out but similar and same in new colors)
With the cool in the air today in Dallas (65 degrees!), it’s the perfect day to talk about these Fall Wardrobe Staples. There are items in my wardrobe that I reach for over and over. From time to time these need to be updated. Right before my NYFW trip, I took the time refresh my a few of my wardrobe staples. I tossed them in my suitcase at the last minute and I’m so glad I did!
I picked up this field jacket in my favorite fall transition color with this dress I featured a few weeks ago. One morning in NY it was cool so I was ready to break this out if even for a bit of an accessory. Later in the day, the temps rose so I tucked it in my bag. I’ll be pulling it out today with the bit of cool in the air in Dallas. Yea!
A denim pencil skirt is a great wardrobe staple. The one I purchased last year has a slit in the front and frankly I don’t wear it that often during the day because the slit scoots up when I sit. This one has the fresh released hem but I think it will be a classic for years because of the color and fit. I am almost 5’2″ and am wearing the 24 petite. I wasn’t sure I’d love the high-waisted cut that so many skirts and jeans are being cut in but I actually love it! Reminds me to hold in those abs when I can’t/don’t exercise. Every little bit helps right?!?!
I finished the look off with a new classic white shirt with the perfect amount of stretch, bordeaux tote and the best shoe ever. These really are worth every penny! They carried me all over NYC with no blisters at all and I got so many compliments on them as well. They are a great neutral shoe with dresses, skirts and jeans. You’ll be seeing them a lot.
My second round of up NYFW is coming tomorrow as a bonus post this week. Thank you for all the great comments and questions you’ve sent my way. I am grateful for you all.
Happy Monday!
