Halloween Ideas with Walmart

Happy October! I cannot believe how quickly the fall is moving by.  Our Halloween tradition every year has been to invite several families over for dinner and trick-or-treating. While I am not necessarily a big decorator for Halloween, I definitely love to set a great table. This year I am setting my table with a great finds from Walmart.

It might seem a bit early to be talking about Halloween party supplies but I always find that the cutest things are gone if I wait too long.  I’ve never really been into the ghoulish elements of Halloween but instead always try to make it lighthearted and fun for my girls.

My older girls are studying Spanish and I absolutely loved this Dia de Los Muertos collection I found on Walmart.com.  Also, using paper goods like these cups, these plates and disposable flatware make clean up a breeze as well.  I did add these great bamboo plates for adults, too.

I typically set a dinner buffet using an easy menu like this one but this year I’ll be serving tamales to keep with the theme. This makes it easy for people to eat as they are ready and allow the kids to rush out the door for trick-or-treating. I always have a fun drink option for adults and kids.  This year for the adults it’s Blood Orange Sangria in the drink dispenser (deleting the strawberries and substituting Blood Orange San Pellegrino for club soda in this recipe) and the same San Pellegrino Blood Orange sparkling water for the kids with cute straws.

How cute is this spider web runner!?!?  These sugar skull gummies are an easy way to make even store bought cupcakes look festive.  This is my favorite mix for baking them myself.

Another thing I love about shopping at Walmart is I am able to find great allergy-friendly candy as well as non-candy items that help me have an offering for children like mine who have food allergies.  We always participate in the Teal Pumpkin campaign so Walmart has everything I need to help kids with food allergies have a fun night as well.  I put the treats in these cute caldrons.

Here’s to a fun Halloween!
