Last Summer/Fall, we remodeled our home of 8 years. We dreamed about this for 3 years and finally took the plunge. I loved our entire team; Builder – Linda Marquart, Interior Designer – Roz Murphy and Landscape Architect – Laura Tyson/Tyson Gardens. You’ll hear a lot about them over time. It was a great creative outlet for me although tough on our family because being up-rooted is never fun.
I collected pages from magazines for several years and had a huge file of ideas. Then I got addicted to Pinterest. I know I’m not alone on this one! It was such a great tool because at every meeting I was able to show any trade a color photo of what I wanted on my phone or Ipad. Now it is such a “shiny ball” for me – as is Instgram…but that is all for another day!
Roz was great to work with. She truly listened to my ideas and understood what I wanted and my budget. Let’s face it, we all have one. Nice when a designer gets that. We are still putting the final touches on interiors. Will we ever be truly finished? I might not be. Please, don’t tell my husband. But then again, after almost 20 years, he probably knows.
One of the ideas I had pinned was a framed vintage Hermes scarf. It was just interesting to me to use it that way and so beautiful as well.
While finally organizing my closet this summer, I came across my Valentine’s present from 2005. A beautiful Hermes scarf I just had to have and had only worn once….as a halter in Mexico…so guess where she is now. Matching the cushions on the Kartell Louis Ghost Chairs in the breakfast room quite nicely.
LOVE! xo
