Ahhh….a long weekend. I think it might just be what makes the world go ’round. It does it for me. We headed back out to California for the Labor Day weekend. It was just what the doctor ordered after two weeks of back-to-school and to get me to the next long weekend in 6 weeks. But who’s counting? Well…me, for one.
We spend 4 fabulous days surfing, hiking and relaxing in Rancho Palos Verdes, or PV to the locals. I think being one of those is my new goal. To have a view like this every day is dreamy.
We rented a home at the Terranea Resort. We don’t typically stay at resorts so this was a real treat.
There are 8 restaurants, 3 pools, a fabulous spa, a links golf course and lots of other activities for everyone. And did I mention the views….
Hurricane Marie did a number on their beach but my husband found an instructor through Wavehuggers. We met Kaylee at Torrance Beach so we got our beach/surf fix.
There are about 3 miles of groomed trails around the resort that are part of the Pacific Coast Trail. We headed north toward the Pointe Vicente Lighthouse. Scene of many movies including Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck.
I didn’t get to check out the spa so Terranea will be on our list of places to return…and soon!
