Khaki Sheath Dress c/o / Gold Link Necklace c/o / Nude Sandal (lower version here) / Burgundy handbag c/o / Similar Gold Cuff / Lip Color
I’m not excited for school to start but it’s getting real around here. With the purchase of textbooks for my high school daughter (sooo expensive!) and gathering needed pieces of school uniforms for all three (um, no to waiting 2 1/2 hours in line!), I’m starting to think about my regular routine. No more lazy mornings, carefree days by the pool…no wonder I’m the one crying the night before school start every year! Ha!
One of the things I enjoy most about my “regular” routine is being a community volunteer. I’ve done many things over the years and enjoyed them all. My favorite volunteer “job” right now is grant writing. It allows me to use my writing and communication skills to help raise much needed funding for nonprofits. It makes my day to get an email from one of them saying they received the funds we requested!
Occasionally, I need to get dressed for committee meetings (and school meetings, too) and you know I’m going to choose a dress. This khaki sheath dress is perfect for those times. It is sophisticated yet simple. This color is one of my favorites because it is so versatile. It also comes in a gorgeous blue that is on trend for fall and a classic black.
It would also be great with a blazer. I’ve worn it several times already to church and business related dinners. This dress runs a small so definitely size up! I’m wearing a 0 Petite here and a 2 Petite would have been a better fit. I’ve styled it with my favorite nude sandal and favorite color handbag for fall.
Banana Republic just announced the Friends and Family Sale! 40% off everything for just a few days with code BRFAMILY. It’s a great time to stock up on what we will need for “back to school.” Wink, wink!
I hope you are enjoying the last few days of lazy summer. We will definitely be soaking up the sun and enjoying as much downtime as we can!
