Thank you so much for sharing our excitement about our lake house remodel! Today, I want to share a mood board and some pieces we are considering for the lake house.
As I shared Monday, we bought a lake house and are remodeling it. It is a great house but in dire need of updates and more than a little love. My vision for the lake house is California Coastal with lots of white and neutrals accented with blues. I’m thrilled to be working with Wendy Cimorelli of Farfalla Designs. She has been invaluable in helping me make so many decisions in such a short time!
There are so many benefits of working with a professional designer even if “you know what you want.” Wendy has an amazing eye, flawless taste and access to showrooms and resources not available to the public. Within hours of seeing the house, she had found sofas and chairs for the family room in the Design District! She has also spent many hours with me measuring the house to ensure a perfect fit of furniture and looking at tile, fixtures, lighting, furniture and rugs. So thankful she convinced me one large rug for the family room is the way to go.
She’s also helped me remember even though “it’s a lake house” not to choose “function over form” meaning don’t lose sight of what looks best and be too focused on thinking durability means dark colors. She’s helped me avoid several mistakes I would have made had I done this all on my own!
Here are a few of the tile and fabric selections we’ve been working with including my favorite Crypton Home. I have this fabulous fabric in my family room and cabana/teen game room. Using Crypton Home is one big way to make sure to be able to choose form over function because you can have both! I’ve created a Pinterest board with more inspiration as well.
