Merry Christmas!  So much of the preparation surrounding today revolves around presents and parties but Christmas means much more than that to our family.  While these activities are part of our Christmas “season,” there is truly a reason for the season and that is Jesus.  Born in a lowly manger, crucified on a cross, He who had no sin took on our sin so that we could have a loving relationship with the Lord our God.

I truly hope that today you are spending time with those you love.  This season looks a bit different for us and for so many who have lost a loved one.  Whether that is recently or some time has passed, the sense that something and someone is missing is there.  I shared on Instagram Stories recently that this is the case for us with the loss of my mother-in-law in October.  I want you to know that if this is you and your family, you are on my mind and in my prayers.

Thank you for the privilege of helping you with your Christmas season preparation whether it was through recipes, tablescapes or gift guides.  I am honored to be a small part of your lives and to have you as a part of mine.

We celebrated with my husband’s family last night and will host my family next week.  This morning, we surprised the girls with a family trip to one of our favorites places in the world, Telluride.  Time together away from the hustle and bustle is better than any gift that can be wrapped.  We look forward to creating more memories together as a family this week experiencing God’s creation.

Praying you have the peace of the Lord and the hope only He brings each day!
