One of my tips for entertaining is to have a great cocktail ready for your guests. In this edition of Make This Weekend features my favorite summer cocktails that are crowd pleasers and also a way to make one interactive!
1) Vodka Mojito
I served this vodka mojito at a garden party last spring and it was a huge hit! A mojito is one of my favorite warm-weather drinks. This drink is minty, tart, and refreshing! For this recipe, I used BLK EYE Vodka. It’s a high quality, non-GMO, farm to bottle vodka with 100% Texas roots! This would also be fun as a Mix Your Own Mojito Bar, so be sure to check out the fun flavors there, too.
These fun cocktails are garnished with fresh mint and my favorite cocktail “jewelry” from Acrylic Sticks! They’ve given me a special code for my readers to receive 20% off your order! 2) Classic La Paloma
This recipe will be a favorite if you love grapefruit like I do! The recipe post is actually called a La Valoma because I made this one with my favorite tequila made b my dear friend and now Maestra de Tequila, Gela Gallardo. Volcan de Mi Tierra Blanco was created over many years by Gela from her vision. A native of Mexico, Gela is passionate and talented. In Dallas, you can find Volcan de Mi Tierra at Pogo’s and Specs.
3) Coconut Margarita
I’ve shared this margarita recipe in multiple blog posts, on Instagram, and Instagram Stories. I love it that much! During a trip in Cabo, a friend ordered this drink and after trying it, I knew I needed to recreate it! This drink is perfect for summer…sweet, cool, creamy, and delicious! Read my post on Cabo San Lucas here. You might also like my Serrano Margarita or Citrus Margarita recipes.
4) White Peach Basil Sangria
Sangria is one of my favorite summer drinks! This White Peach Basil Sangria showcases the best that summer has to offer with fresh peaches and basil. I’ll be sharing more herbal cocktails that I created for my event with Gardenuity soon! This sangria perfect for summer nights with friends or a specialty drink at parties. If you love sangria also try the French Rose Champagne Sangria that was inspired by the famous sangria at The Ivy in LA. It’s light and not too sweet. My classic Strawberry Sangria is another crowd pleaser!
5) Raspberry Frosé
Of course, I had to include the frosé! Who doesn’t love a cold glass of frosé on a hot summer day!? This quick cocktail recipe has been a reader favorite and is the perfect amount of sweet, tart and cold. So refreshing and perfect for a hot summer day! If you want to make something for the kiddos, this Raspberry Lemonade is delicious!
