Each year I share what I call my New Year Reset since I do not make New Year’s resolutions. This year I’m actually pushing pause.
With life moving quickly as my girls grow up and head to high school and college, this feels more right than resolutions or goals. Honestly, the things I have wanted to renew my focus on each January (family, faith, health, and friendships) haven’t changed much in the past several years. You can read those things in this New Year Reset post for 2021.
This year, I am taking time over the next several weeks to dig in and think about how I want things to work both personally and professionally in 2022. I know I want to have more family and down time, create great content for AWL, present it in an engaging way, be inspired and inspire you! Pausing to take the time do truly think about these things is already inspiring! We all need the space and time to stop, take stock and plan. I hope you’ll do the same!
Nothing is more important to me than my family. Being a sole proprietor of a social media-based company with a few part-time employees means my business takes a lot of time outside of a normal 9 to 5 work day. Over the past 8 years, I have managed to work during school hours but still finish up projects at night after they go to bed and occasionally on the weekends. My goal for 2022 is to have more normal working hours by streamlining my work process and that of my team to create more space for downtime and family while providing a great experience for AWL readers and followers.
I love what I do and creating fresh content for you, so please know that won’t change! Thank you for your support of AWL that allowed me to turn a hobby based on my passions into a thriving business. While I’m working on changes, including a new website, you will see 2 posts each week, possibly 3. I need the time and space to work on new things that are inspiring to me and that I know you will enjoy, too. We will continue to do newsletters when there are new posts and include seasonal inspiration. The Weekend Notes will resume soon.
There are two things I’d love your help with:
- I’ve created a Reader Survey and I would love your feedback on what you like most about Alicia Wood Lifestyle and let me know a bit more about you as well. This will help me to create the content that you want most as well as re-organize my website so that it becomes the ultimate, online resource for you regarding Style, Beauty, Home, Entertaining and Travel.
- I am looking for team members to help with PR/Marketing, SEO, Copy Writing and Social Media Strategy/Management. If you are interested or know someone who would be, please email me your information.
I can’t wait to see your responses to the Reader Survey! I so appreciate you taking the time to help me make Alicia Wood Lifestyle the best it can be!
I hope you are having a great start to 2022!
PS, If you haven’t been able to visit the sight lately, here is what you may have missed 🙂
Was just talking to friends about this last night. While getting back to “normal” is a goal, I have no desire to go back to my pre-Covid level of weekday busy-ness!
I think so many of us feel that way! There are so many important things that we our attention and that we value most! I hope you have a wonderful 2022!
This might be my favorite New Years post I’ve read. My thinking is right in line with yours and your goals for the year ahead are so worthwhile and important. Love this Alicia!
