I can’t believe we are less than a week away from a new year and new decade! This definitely calls for a gathering with friends to celebrate. This easy menu for New Year’s brunch includes some black eyed peas for good luck, of course!
These days most of our New Year’s entertaining is quite low-key. Either a fun night at home with family and friends or a quiet New Year’s day with a yummy brunch. I shared a New Year’s eve dinner menu a few years ago. For a low-key night, an easy charcuterie board and this crowd-pleasing black eyed pea dip are a good place to start. We are having friends over New Year’s Eve and definitely serving these.
For brunch, I am planning an easy buffet with our favorite waffles with fresh fruit and whipped cream and my apple arugula sausage strata with the addition of black eyed peas for a prosperous new year.
Simple foods like Belgian waffles look even more scrumptious piled high on a pretty platter. I love the different shaped platters from the Blue Bay Collection from Lenox. Blue Bay Collection is highlighted with four blue and white patterns: stipe, dot, leaf and ikat all trimmed in gold. I especially love a little shimmer when it is dishwasher safe!
I always say that not everything has to be homemade as long as it is delicious. Highlighting the beautiful Lenox tiered server are our favorite gluten-free croissants and Pan chocolates from Schar. I’ll be piling a little bit of everything on top of these ikat print plates with a delicate undulating edge.
A fun highlight to this New Year’s eve buffet is sweet mimosas and hot chocolate. You’ve seen these gorgeous champagne flutes in the holiday bar cart post. I used the smaller glass for pure OJ so kids can tell the difference! We love hot chocolate and these mugs are the perfect size. My favorite Hot Chocolate is these melting tabs. They have a cinnamon kick we all love! My Peppermint White Hot Chocolate would be a great addition to this menu as well. You could even kick it up notch with my Hot Chocolate Bar!
Whatever you do to ring in the new year I hope that it brings you peace and joy. Wishing you a fabulous 2020!
