Whether your plans involve a night on the town or staying home, New Year’s Eve is a night that calls for a great outfit. It just dawned on me that we are about to start a new decade, too! I’ve gotten a few requests for inspiration so I wanted to share these ideas with you today.
I’ve included some dressier options as well as a more casual outfit idea below. You can also find more inspiration in the Five Christmas Party Looks + Holiday Style Shop and in the How to Wear Jeans to a Holiday Party posts. If you have any more last-minute shopping to do, don’t forget to check out my 2019 Holiday Gift Guides. I’ve also included information about shipping deadlines and retailers who offer the buy online and pick up in-store options in this post.
This first look is an elegant option for dressing up for New Year’s Eve. A little black dress is always an easy choice! I’m wearing a velvet bow shoulder dress from Draper James. I paired it with some black sandals and a small handbag.
This gorgeous velvet one shoulder dress is one I’ve featured before and is back in stock in all sizes. I wore it to several parties last year including my 50th Birthday Dinner. It will always be a favorite and is a true classic. I can’t wait to wear it again.
For a dress option that’s not black…try navy! This dress is also from Draper James. I love navy and this dress has gorgeous swiss dot detailing. The sheer material and balloon style sleeve is also very pretty. I paired it with metallic heels and clutch for some fun New Year’s Eve shine!
If you’d rather wear jeans, this is the outfit for you. For more inspiration for wearing jeans to a holiday party, read this post. I love this fabulous faux fur vest from Tuckernuck. Underneath it I’m wearing a cashmere turtleneck sweater. I paired it with some of my favorite black skinny jeans and classic black heels.
