Well, hello! I’ve been a bit quiet this week but I’ve been making some great recipes so hopefully you understand. Lot’s of cooking but not a lot of photographing, thus not many posts. Plus, I don’t know about you, but I’m still hardly in the swing of things. Too many girls going different directions, maybe? But, it’s all good stuff.
I want you to know about my latest cookbook obsession. I mentioned it in a round up of cookbooks that were inspiring me a few weeks ago. One Pot of the Day: 365 Recipes for Every Day of the Year from Williams-Sonoma.
This great book is organized by the month with seasonally available items and has a new recipe for each day that you make in one pot. Yes, you heard me. ONE POT. Genius! When I was first really beginning to cook, I made most of the recipes in this oldie-but-goodie. Sso when I saw One Pot of the Day, I knew it was for me.
So far I’ve made:
Polenta with Fontina & Roasted Vegetables…Amazing! No one missed the meat. I can keep these ingredients in the fridge for dinner in 45 minutes or less. It’ll be a staple.
Chicken Pot Pie…such a comfort food. I used the Williams-Sonoma Gluten Free Pie Crust Mix for the crust to save time. Love pre-measured when I can get it.
Porter-Braised Chicken in which I substituted a gluten-free beer and it was a hit.
On tap are Meatballs in Tomato Sauce, Chicken Agrodolce with Deliata Squash, Beef, Basil and Goat-Cheese Lasagne Roll Ups and Red-Wine Braised Brisket.
Written by Kate McMillan, chef and instruction at Tante Marie’s Cooking School in San Francisco and mother of three young girls, she knows about simple but tasty meals that satisfy a hungry crew. I challenge you to get this book and cook through it with me. Post your favorite dishes and tag me on Instagram or comment below when you make one. I want to know your favorites from this great cookbook.
