I could not be more excited to share this Tanzania safari packing list with you! It was a dream of mine to go to Africa one day but never did I dream I’d go twice in one summer!
We are headed back to the African continent to meet our oldest daughter who has had an internship in an East African country this summer. We are meeting her in Tanzania for our family summer vacation. I can not wait to see her!
Packing for this safari is much easier since we just went about a month ago to South Africa. However, there are a few nuances to packing for a safari in Tanzania. We laughed in South Africa with one of the guides that with attire anything goes as long as 50 shades of khaki from the browns to the greens to even brown/gray hues. When we went to South Africa in 2019 I wore some navy pieces as well. You’ll even see some people wearing black in some safari photos. In Tanzania, that is a no-go because of tsetse flies who bite and are dangerous. No, thank you!
So for this packing list, I have strictly included every shade of khaki and army green. I’m planning on us having a family photo taken since it will be the last week of the summer all five of us are together. With that in mind, I have included a few dressier things. I also like to dress for dinner and get out of my safari clothes, too.
I shared the army green version of this dress in my South Africa Safari packing list and when I saw the white and tan version, I couldn’t resist! I’ve shared in What I Wore in Cape Town, that I love this brand. I could have a closet full of Julia Amory designs and be very happy!
This army green sundress arrives today and I can’t wait to wear it! Army green is a great transition color for fall so I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of it. This ivory dress is the same style as the cobalt blue dress you all loved that I also wore in Cape Town. This fabric travels so well and is another go-to brand for me as you well know.
We are going to visit a school to deliver books and supplies, so I’ll wear these jeans and my favorite sneakers. I’m so excited about this part of our trip!
I’ll be sharing one big post on what I wore on safari once we are back but in the meantime don’t hesitate to drop any questions below. I’ll be sharing our trip on Instagram stories so be sure to follow along there.
