Packing List for San Miguel de Allende

by | Packing Lists, Travel, Wanderlust Wednesday | 2 comments

Welcome to the first Wanderlust Wednesday of 2023: A Packing List for San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  One of my goals for 2023 is to bring back Wanderlust Wednesday at least twice a month with either a travel guide or a packing list.

Tomorrow we are headed to San Miguel to celebrate my dear friend Tanya Foster‘s birthday.  She has invited us and two other couples to stay in a home in this charming interior Mexico town.   I’ve never been and am so excited to go!  Tanya has planned a great long weekend for us including a city tour, wine tasting and, of course, lots of great lunches and dinners.  I’ll share more once we return including what I wore.  The what I wore posts are always so popular.  You all loved What I Wore in the French Alps: Megeve, France.  I promise I’ll share a travel guide with you soon.

It will be in the low to mid 70s in the day and cooling off to low 40s in the evenings, so I’m packing a white denim jacket and my favorite travel wrap in addition to colorful dresses and skirts.  The streets are all cobblestone and there are a lot of hills so my favorite flat sandals and these that wrap around my ankle that I wore all over Spain as well as comfortable sneakers.

I’m excited to explore a new place and spend time with these lifelong friends!

We were just there in November for Dia de los Muertos. In all our European travels, have never encountered cobblestones like these. Also, sidewalks 18” wide and steep hills. Stick to your flattest flats!

      Hi Debbie!
Such great advice! I didn’t wear the gold sandals although could have when we drive to dinner. The wrap sandals and sneakers were perfect!
Dia de los Muertos would be such a great time to be in San Miguel. I know that was an amazing trip!
