It’s birthday season around here so I wanted to show you my favorite way to decorate a cake…with Sprinkles! This Sprinkles Birthday Cake is seriously so easy, anyone can do it.
I baked two 10 inch round cakes, covered the bottom with icing, stacked the second layer and then iced the cake. (I actually did a “crumb coat”, which I’ll explain in a later post because it is not essential for this cake.)
Place your cake on a jelly roll pan (a cookie sheet with low sides). Fill your hand with sprinkles and gently press the sprinkles up the side of the cake, working your way around the cake. Some of the sprinkles will begin to cover the top. Cover all sides completely. Next, finish the top.
You can even do it with the longer sprinkles called Jimmies but I prefer the round ones. Once you are finished, place it on your favorite cake stand or cake plate and Voila!
Happy Baking!
