I’m smitten with the basket bag trend this spring and summer as you can see above! I do think this is one “trend” that is actually a classic much like the bamboo trend I shared a few weeks ago. I got one of my girls off to camp this weekend and I’m helping another daughter and my hubby get off to a mission trip so today will be a bit short and sweet!
I love spotting trends and sharing them with you especially if I think they are a good purchase and one that will not fade quickly. I do think that the basket “trend” is not entirely new, however. We’ve all seen (and love!) the bamboo ark bag that has been popular for a few spring and summer seasons. It’s actually a revival of a bag from the 70s!
Basket bags are much the same but are having a resurgence this spring and summer especially! This white round wicker basket bag had me at “Hello!” when I saw her at a local shop. I found here online here and it’s been a very popular item the past month with readers and LikeToKnow. It shoppers alike.
This basket bag from the bamboo post has also been a favorite of readers. The black leather and bamboo handle make it a classic as well. This convertible basket bag that I took to South Africa also has a crossbody strap and I’ve loved carrying it day and night. It also comes in black.
I’m classifying this net bag as a basket bag as well because of the net basket. This version is a bit pricey and I ordered it but didn’t keep it last fall. I just didn’t love it for the price. I saw this version on Amazon and quickly picked it up to check the quality. Honestly, I’m not sure I can tell much of a difference in the quality of the knotted rope at all. It is faux leather but for a fun novelty bag, it is a great bag. I carry it a lot and get a lot of compliments on it. Many of you have purchased it as well. It also comes in white which I’m contemplating for trip this summer.
I’ve gathered a lot of other great basket bags that I think have great style and are well priced. Many of these are also linked in the Summer Style Shops that I shared on Friday so be sure to check them out! I’d love to know your favorites!
