We are back from our amazing adventure in South Africa with Natural World Safaris and I can’t wait to share all the details.  Because it takes a while to write the posts on each destination, and because I always get a lot of questions, I’m starting with what I wore in Cape Town and the Cape Winelands first.  You can see my full packing list and ideas here.  I get asked about Scott’s clothes a lot so I’ve linked as much of his as possible, too.

Black Jumpsuit / Cardigan / Similar Sandals / Rolling Carry-on / MZ Wallace Tote

Being comfortable on a long-haul flight is a MUST!  I chose this jumpsuit from one of my favorite brands and added this cardigan that I’ve worn many times before.  They were the perfect set.  I looked chic while traveling and was comfortable while I slept as well.  My favorite tote holds my laptop, calendar, chargers, book, cardigan and travel skincare favorites.  The three pouches that come with the tote help keep everything organized!

White Swing Sleeve Top / White Jeans (only $64!) / Similar Sandals / Basket Cross-body / Sunglasses

Once we arrived at the One and Only Cape Town, we got settled in our room and headed out to explore the V & A Waterfront.  I wore the all-white look from this post but with the new white jeans I purchased before we left.  I love this brand!  These jeans are well-made, have a great fit, the perfect amount of stretch and are $64!  This top is a favorite of mine and you!  So many of your have purchased it and I got asked for tons of links in DM on Instagram when I posted this.  You can always find all my Instagram posts and shop them here with LikeToKnow.It.

Veronica Beard x Dress / Jimmy Choo sandals / Basket Bag (without cross-body strap)  On Scott: Peter Millar Dress Shirt / Navy Peter Millar Pants / Suede Belt / Suede Sneakers

We had dinner at the beautiful Ruben’s at the One and Only.  They treated us to a wine tasting with their amazing sommelier, Pearl, in the Ruben’s Wine Loft.  I wore this chiffon, long-sleeved dress with a ruched skirt, also from one of my favorite brands.  I love having a long-sleeved dress for summer as the A/C can get so cold.

Cotton Voile Top / VB Jeans with Stripe / GGDB sneakers / Trench (in my bag) / Longchamp Le Pliage Cuir Bag (my favorite for sightseeing)  On Scott: Johnnie-O shirt / Peter Millar Shorts / Blue Camo Belt / Hoka One Sneakers

The next morning, we spent the day with a guide taking in the beauty of Cape Town.  I wore this cotton voile clip-dot shirt and another pair of favorite jeans.  These are the light wash version of these jeans.  I have another pair of light wash jeans from this brand that I wear almost every day because they are so comfortable!  These jeans are so slimming with the side stripe, too.  I got a ton of DMs on Instagram both times I posted them in my feed and on Stories. Speaking of Instagram Stories, I’ve saved the IG stories on my Highlights so you can refer back to them.

Linen Shift / Jimmy Choo Sandals / Basket Bag On Scott: Dress Shirt / Peter Millar Camo Belt / Lululemon ABC Slim Warpstreme Pant

That afternoon, we relaxed at our new hotel, Cape Grace, before having a Wine Orientation session with Sommelier Alvero and dinner at their restaurant.  I wore this favorite linen shift dress I also took to Spain.  It is such a classic style.  I’m so glad it is back in stock and is available in more colors!

Check Dobby Popover Shirt / Same White Jeans (only $64!) / Similar Sandals  On Scott: Polo Shirt / Shorts / Belt / Sneakers

We spent the next day driving to beautiful places on the Cape Peninsula. I wore this woven popover shirt with my new fav $64 white jeans again.  This denim is great and holds it’s shape!  I did wear my sneakers for the hike we did but changed to these after I rubbed a blister because I forgot my socks!  I love these no-show socks.  I didn’t forget them again!

Blue Floral Maxi / Jimmy Choo Sandals / Basket Bag

We checked in to the beautiful Ellerman House Hotel, located on the hills above Camps Bay.  The views of the bay and Cape Town were fabulous from here.  You know I love a good sunset and this was the best in Cape Town!  I can’t wait to share more about this special hotel with you soon.  I wore this cotton voile maxi dress to dinner and received several compliments.  I’m loving wearing maxi dresses.  My tips for wearing maxi dresses at any height can be found here.

White Slub Tshirt / Chambray Maxi Skirt / Similar Sandals / Basket Bag On Scott: Polo Shirt / Shorts / Grey Suede Belt / Suede Sneakers

After oversleeping (jet lag!), we departed for the Cape Winelands tour with our guide.  I wore this lightweight chambray maxi skirt that is part of the Tuckernuck Collection I shared before we left.  The cut of this skirt is so flattering!  I paired it with my favorite simple white T.  I love this T as it has a bit of a texture to which elevates it from your typical T.  It comes in several colors and will be a go-to this summer.

Dusty Rose Chiffon Ruffle DressJimmy Choo Sandals / Basket Bag

Once we arrived at La Residence in Franschhoek, I changed into this dusty rose chiffon ruffle sleeved dress for dinner.  Designed by Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam, it’s ruffle details and beautiful printed chiffon was perfect for this romantic setting with its old-world charm and beautiful setting.  This dress would be perfect for a wedding.

Periwinkle Shirtdress / Similar Sandals / Basket Bag / Trench On Scott: Polo Shirt / Shorts / Quarter Zip Pullover / Grey Suede Belt / Suede Sneakers

We spent the day visiting the town of Franschhoek and two local wineries, La Motte and Moreson.  Both were fabulous and we shipped wine home!  You can see these on IG Stories as well.  It was an overcast day and sprinkling a bit so I brought my trench to wear over this shirt dress.  I also have this dress in navy and loved it so much I bought it again!  A shirt dress is a perfect item to go from day to night with just an accessory change as well.

Alicia Wood, Dallas Lifestyle Expert, Sunset at La ResidenceRust Chiffon Maxi Dress / Jimmy Choo Sandals / Basket Bag On Scott: Dress Shirt / Quarter Zip Sweater / Lululemon ABC Slim Warpstreme Pant / Quarter Zip Sweater / Grey Suede Belt / Suede

Everyone loves this dress and so do I!  This photo on Instagram had so many of you asking for details on this great dress.  It is lightweight chiffon (do you see a pattern here!?!) and packs like a dream!  I got so lucky that the colors of the sunset were an almost perfect match!  I wore it in a Mother-Daughter fashion show with my oldest daughter.  It’s another great piece for summer because it is light and airy but has sleeves. After watching this glorious sunset, we went to dinner in Franschhoek and I’ll share that detail later.

We had such a great time in Cape Town and the Cape Winelands.  I’m working on the post with all the details on what we did and will share it soon.
