Wow! It seems many of you are traveling to the beach for spring break this year based how quickly you are picking up spring style and the beachy inspiration and swimwear I’ve been sharing! Here is what I’m packing for Spring Break in the Bahamas.
Typically, I share a packing list a little closer to the trip but you have been scooping up items from What to Pack for a Beach Vacation, Best Dresses for a Beach Vacation, Flattering Black Swimsuits, Best Straw Bags and New Resort from Avara so I thought I’d go ahead share this today instead of next week. It’s also helped me to get organized to pack in my carry on early, too!
We are staying at a large resort in the Bahamas, which feels like a first for us. Because of the girls’ food allergies, we traditionally stay in a house or condo so we have a kitchen. A big hotel during Spring Break will be an adventure and, of course, I’ll share it with you!
Just like other beach trips, I think I’ll spend most of my day in swimsuits and coverups. I shared in my 11 best places to shop for swimsuits online post that Becca swim is one of my favorite brands. I’ve picked up this gorgeous blue suit as well as this classic black from Bleu|Rod Beattie. I can’t wait to try this turquoise belted one-piece I ordered. I never go without my favorite one shoulder one piece swimsuit from Summersalt, another favorite brand. They took 1.5 million measurements from 10,000 women to create the perfect swimsuits for every body.
Pretty cover ups were top of my list! I needed a refresh. I am packing this pretty sarong from Tuckernuck and one in black from Bleu|Rod Beattie. These will be easy to throw over my suit at the pool or beach. I ordered this pretty marbled kimono to go with this pink suit and the blue one I mentioned above. We’ve chartered a boat for a day and I’m thinking about this and this combo. I’ve ordered several things that are yet to arrive. Once they do, I’ll narrow it down a bit more so I can pack in my carry on, of course! I’ll also do a try-on on Instagram stories to share the ones I like best.
For lunch and dinner, I have brought a mix of fun tops with great details like this block print top, this lightweight floral top and T-shirts to go with my favorite army green, white and denim shorts as well as a few dresses like this tie-dye maxi and this pink ruffle dress. As you know, I love lightweight dresses like this blue floral Misa are my favorite dresses for travel because they take up almost no room! Because it is Spring Break trip for my high school senior daughter, there is a beach party one night and we will all wear white. I’ve packed my favorite white top, this top and white shorts and this dress to make a game-time decision.
For travel, I will wear this black jumpsuit or a cute top white jeans and a wrap to travel. That will also give me something to wear in the evenings if it is cool.
I always pack a pair of wedges to wear with dresses and sometimes shorts. These cork wedges are my current favorites. You’ve seen them here with pants, too. I just ordered these. I’ll be taking these these for the beach.
This is the new beach bag I ordered after researching new straw bags. I love that it has a fabric closure sewn in to keep items in the bag and protected a bit. It’ll be carrying books, sunscreen, etc. This is the bag I bring on all our family trips as it carries so much. It’s the perfect size to fit inside my MZ Wallace bag and allows me to pack all of these things in my carry-on. Don’t forget to check out that post before you start packing for your next trip! I’ll share as I start packing next week on Instagram stories.
If you don’t want a straw bag, this coated canvas bag is the one I carry to the lake. In fact, we have three that we take back-and-forth to use on the boat. It is a fantastic bag, comes in several colors, and can be monogrammed as well. Mine are white with turquoise monograms.
I hope that gives you an idea of what I’m packing for Spring Break in Mexico and inspires you for your beach vacation. There is a new section on my website on Packing Lists to give you inspiration for all the destinations we’ve visited. I’m sure this doesn’t have to be said, but we will be taking all the necessary precautions when we fly and testing to return. We’ve done this recently and it’s so easy.
Happy packing!
